Have you figured out anything more with this? I am trying to program my key fobs to a 2020 PIU using Forscan. Thank you.

Am on the same boat. It think the only option is FDRS. What’s odd and surprisingly, i took mine to the delaership and they couldnt program 2 OEM key fobs. Mine originally did not come with fobs. So i wonder if it has to do something with the built codes. I was fortunate the dealer didn't charge the hour rate for trying to program the fobs.

Do you have FordPass with your PIU? If you do and can remote start/lock/unlock from the app, you should have the components necessary already installed for them to just add the key fob. However, it needs to have the remote code printed on it for them to add to FDRS, AFAIK it was moved to FDRS on the 2020 models, prior years it was in ForSCAN.
I had gotten some aftermarket custom keys with built in remotes. They would work with the last gen, but only on the vehicles that had the remote swap trick enabled.

Thank you for the info. I fortunately, I think I'll need to try a dealership.

Indo have FordPass. I have OEM key fobs with the codes. For some reason, the dealer was not able to add the key fobs to the car. Am pretty sure they used FDRS. All am trying to figure out is, if your 2020 PIU originally did not come with fobs, can it still be added?

Am just confused as to why a Ford dealer was unable to program them. Although i bought the fobs used, dealer confirmed my fobs are OEM. Perhaps maybe because they might be programed to another vehicle?
