Explorer Timberline 2021.
Hi All, new joiner today. Had our 2021 Timberline since October 21 and love it.

I assumed when I purchased it and was told that it is auto four wheel drive. However, I noticed another timberline the other day with a 4wd decal on the back, whereas ours doesn’t.

Is this just a 2021 vs 2022 change in detail/decal or is it possible ours isn’t 4 wheel drive?

Thanks for any advice!

The 2021 Timberline is only available in Intelligent 4WD.

Also the other timberline owner could have added that sticker or emblem himself.

quick question: does the timberline trim come with black oval emblems front and rear?

Are you sure? All the pictures I've seen look like the Blue Oval. I has an ST so have only seen online pictures.
all the pictures i have seen of the timberline trim appear to be black ovals. that is why i asked

Although some members have a Timberline, none of them have posted photos in the picture thread.
I've looked a multiple pictures and it looks like they have a black one. Some looked dark blue but they were taken at an angle.

Member jsgoofn has a Timberline and he says the ovals are black. Must be my eyes that I thought they were blue.

Speaking of blue Ford ovals, when the Platinum trim-level Explorer was introduced for the 2016 model year, the steering wheel was adorned with a platinum-colored Ford oval. At the time, this was only deviation from the corporate-standard blue oval allowed by Ford.

I don't know if this is still true, but it's an interesting bit of Explorer trivia.

Also speaking from experience, original copyright protection of things like the Ford blue may be jeopardized when changes are made without seeking new copyrights.
