2023 Timberline tire size with a 2" lift?

I bought a 2023 Explorer Timberline in Dec. There have been a few times I scraped when off road. My Timberline currently has 8.7" of clearence with 265/65r-18 all terrain tires. I got a 2" lift kit to help with the clearence, but i have not installed it yet and I'm wondering if i can go up in tire size without scraping or doing anything other than the lift. I'd like something like the ko2 tires but have more sidewall.

I know there’s one guy who running 275/65r18 tire setup without a problem and that’s on a Traxda 2” lift. Probably could go bigger but you’d have to drop down to a lower tire aspect ratio. These cars really aren’t designed for off road.

I think the only way to achieve the clearance you are looking for is with a lift kit which could then affect your warranty if something were to fail and it is linked to the lift. Changing tire sizes while staying within the recommended 3% max. diameter variance isn't going to do much for you.

As stated in op, i have a 2" lift kit that Ford is going to install and won't do anything to my warranty. I just need to make an appointment for the installation. I was hoping to get an idea before I do the install of i can get larger more aggressive tires.

If it is found to be the cause for the fail, it will void warranty.

I have talked with the warranty department at local dealership as well as with Ford customer service warranty department.. lifts and tires don't effect my warranty at all even of something fails. My local dealership also gives a warranty on the work.

Lift kits are also covered under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.

They are wrong, I don't know who you talked too, but they are wrong. I know the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, it protects you by saying they have to prove that the part causes the problem before voiding the warranty claim is voided. Any non-aftermarket part has the possibility of voiding warranty. Lift and tires are not OEM and are not even Ford certified part. There's nothing wrong with that, but it has the possilbility of voiding warranty.

The warranty is on the work performed to install the lift kit and possibly the kit itself, but will not cover a denied warranty claim if linked to the lift.

Any my local dealership offers lifetime warranty on all vehicles they sell. If the dealership says it is covered under their warranty, they are the ones that approve the warranty. Even of that were not the case, none of this addresses my original question.

That's a great deal the dealership provides but do you have or have you read their "Lifetime Warranty" document? Most warranties include exclusions for certain items.

Dropped off my Timberline at the dealership today to get the work done. Also went to the tire shop and bought ko3 275/65r18 as that was what was recommended by the computer. I'll update once everything is finished and tires are on.

It drives a little stiffer, but feels good and not too noisy.

Can you share photos of where the trimming had to be done? I am considering this tire size for my 1.5" lift - factory rims and 30mm Mishimoto spacers.

She is a bit over 10.7" st lowest point under the vehicle.vi put some fuel rims on her as well.
