I noticed the two open storage areas on either side of the cargo space. Does the vehicle come with covers for those to make a completely flat floor?

Yes they should come with covers.

Yes, it comes with covers. However, that covers can be used as vertical dividers of that storage area. Please check if it is the case.

I'm guessing you're not referring to the 2016 Platinum shown in your profile since you posted in the 6th gen thread.
