I just recently purchased a '97 Ranger 2wd. It currently has 215/75R14 tires on it because the previous owner said that the 225/70R14 origional size was impossible to find. A bit of on-line research shows that this size does exist, but not many tires to choose from.
I'd like to keep running the 14" rims because they are the alloy ones and look great. Also, this is a 2nd vehicle and I'm not prepared to spend a lot of $ on it.
Anyone out there with suggestions for a decent all-weather tire (yes we have 4-6 months of snow and ice here in Saskatchewan). I don't want to spend $ on a second set of rims with dedicated winter tires, but I do want a decent year-round tire.
I read some reports that the Firestone Destination A/T was a decent performing tire (that comes in 225/70R14), but have been concerned with some of the issues about cracking sidewalls after only a year, ballancing issues, bulges, and out of round comments.
So, you Ranger owners running the 14" rims, what tire do you use?
