260 hp out of 1st gen V6?

I encountered the 1st gen. X with a claimed 260 hp. Needless to say, I was quite interested, and asked him what he had done- he gave me the old "i'm not gonna say b/c i'm a dork look" and just smiled. I began to think b.s. and told him to open the hood. I see a completely stock engine- not even an open-element filter. He claims his Dad won't tell him what is done to the X. But, he mentioned he has an exhaust "just below a cherry bomb" that gave him 35 hp So I check underneath and see a flowmaster 50- no new piping, just the muffler. I suggest a little show-down. Well, I completely destroyed him off the line, and around 70 or so he began to creep (emphasize creep) on me until i shut it down around 80. Now, with a 100 hp advantage over me, he should have destroyed me, correct? He claims he didnt floor it off the line, "explaining" why i had him at first. Does this guy sound like he's full of it or what?? I don't want to be a flat-out d*ck and call b.s. to his face unless i know for sure there is no possible way he has 260. I shall ask for dyno sheets next time....

I think we should get together and strip his vehicle for parts, give him a wedgie and hang him from a tree by it.
Maybe by a Harley Davidson plant and spray paint on his chest "Harleys are for wimps".
That should be punishment enough for his lameness.

yeah, i have no air filter and just a 40 series with no rear pipes... and i still have under 170 hp..... ha, he doesnt even have the no filter mod like me!

Not saying anything about his truck, just giving you a comparison:

I have about 300 hp.
I pulled a low 14 second Mustang from 15 to 65 mph today (caught him a little off-guard and he was in the wrong gear).
After that he took off, but if he has anywhere close to 260 hp you wouldn't have seen anything but exhaust.

I did the same to a guy over in Duluth. He came up next to me in a 98 XLT and started talkin like he had all this crap (this was back in my racing days) so we raced, even with 32s I pulled on him a lot from the get-go. We pulled into a QT and he started off by telling me the same "i was not trying B.S." and then went to to say that he had an 11lb blower on the way, like that would be driveable with the SOHC comp. ratio. He then went on to say that he had Hella building him personally a set of projector headlamps, and also told me that his 45 dollar hella fogs were brighter than my KC's. The only cool thing about this truck was that he had real wig wags.

also, he told me that he had put metal tubing inside his stock air tube and that gave him 20hp, this guy was a moron, everytime i asked him to show me stuff on his motor he said "i dont feel like showing it now". He also said that he has special Goodyear high performace ATS tires. I drove off shaking my head and laughing my ass off, i am sure he drove off thinking he was a bad ass.

People like that really irritate me, in so many way's. First off the fact that they're flat out lying or just don't know anything about car's and won't admit it, secondly they'll do anything they have to so they won't have to back down admit admit ignorance/stupidity, third they do it only to show off.

I was taking to one of those type's of guy's in high school, he told me that he's just driving his beater now, but had a 94 or 96 Probe Gt at his house w/ a Turbo pushing 300+hp and a posi rear end, also that he couldn't turn his stereo all the way up cause it'd blow out his windows. I told him I thought Probes were front wheel drive( there were many flaws in what he told me, but this was the easiest for me to prove he was BSing me), he tried to start a fight w/ me cause he said I was calling him a liar. Some people shouldn't be allowed to breed.

They sure are. They say my Katana (soon to be traded for a 600 Gixxer) goes about 150 or so but I will NEVER find out, at least not on the street.

I had a system like that in my Jeep... was nice when I was low on fuel, I could just turn the speakers to the back and get a few more miles out of it to make it to the gas station.
Then I got older, richer, appreciated my hearing more and got the Explorer. heh

$800 Hell mine was a fully custom true dual with dual series 40's and mine only cost $500 and that was with custom mandrel bends. God with $800 i could have had headers too. lol. this guy is an idiot. I think i would have pulled his b1tch card.
