Hey whats goin on explo community!! Im the proud owner of a 2000 explorer 5.0 xlt :D but im looking into first gen explorers that are 4x4's and 5 speeds. I am finding mostly 91's and they are all 4 doors and one 2 door. Kind of digging the 2 door but undecided. Are there any years that are better than others?? I will miss the power of the 5.0 but it will be nice to have a 5 speed and 4wd. Anything helps!! :exporange

The last year 94' has many improvements.

Especially in the automatic transmissions., but if your looking for a manual trans it's not an issue.

I personally recommend looking for a limited edition or Eddie Bauer. Very nicely equipped, Premium audio, better sound proofing, seats, carpet, sun roof, just nicer all round.

Limited's only come with the auto trans though. But a M50D swap is not to tough.

Usually a bit better maintained too, It's totally the "soccer mom" edition.

But you can strip all the running boards and such off and sell them. (I for one would be interested in those parts)

Limited's look like this: Painted bumpers and grill are the dead giveaway.

Thanks ill keep that in mind if i come across one!

Since im going to be using it as a daily driver and build it into a trail/mild rock rig im not concerned about having all of the luxuries. So basically any will do.

What should one with under 150k miles be going for because i have seen them all over in price

Thanks again

$1500 average.
$3000 Supper clean with all the goodies. And running perfect.

Blue book for my limited is $3600. Which I thought was high but that's what the book says.

Here's an example of a $1500 sport 2" lift on 33's

If you find something in Arizona...Phoenix area I would be willing to go have a look for you to see if it's something worth driving out from Cali to pick up.

Keep your eye on Phoenix Craigslist...right now that's the only Sport...but they pop up regularly... there are tuuuuunns of explorer's out here.

Alright cool i didnt think to look in AZ. I have been mainly looking in NorCal, NV, and parts of Oregon. There just really arent any sports that ive seen
