can I convert 2nd gen to 3rd gen ?!!

hii explorer experts ,, can i convert my 2nd gen explorer xlt to a 3rd gen on the same frame of the 2nd gen ?!!
I need to upgrade everything to the 3rd gen on the same frame of 2nd gen , is that possible ?
like swapping the body and engine and axles and chasis parts
or the frames has a different mount points / measures ?
this is important to me ..

I'm sure it's possible with enough money and effort. Probably not worth it though. Would be cheaper to just buy a 3rd gen

Why not just fix up your 2nd gen? It will be much cheaper.

Yes, you can in 3 easy steps, and it will cost a couple grand, just to warn you.

1. Drive your 2nd Gen to a used car lot that has a 3rd gen in-stock
2. Haggle over the value of your 2nd gen
3. Drive home in a 3rd gen.

Sorry for the sarcasm, but the short answer is no. The 2nd gen was still built on the ranger frame, but the 3rd gen got it's own frame.

You could conceivably convert your second gen to an early sport trac, as this still shared the ranger platform.
