Mmk so I have a couple of questions...I have an 2001 Explorer 2dr Sport 2wd. I'm looking to fit 31's on the X...I'm not looking to spend a grand on lifts so I'm doing it all myself (the easy). My idea is that I would do a TT and lift shackles in the rear. Now for the TT, I heard that I could get longer bolts and get about a 4-5.5in lift just from the TT. Is this true?? Do I need to keep the tires on the ground so that I won't snap the bolts?? I'm just lookin for some advice and every peice welcomed. Thanks!

Another quesion....If I do the Add a Leaf do they sit under or over the axle since its an axle over spring setup??

So the Add a Leaf stays under the axle?? Cause I've seen other applications that have the one leaf above the axle.

The add a leaf stays with the existing leaf pack, so since you have a spring under axle set up then the aal would go under the axle. The set up you saw only had one spring over the axle with the rest below the axle? The only thing I can think of that would have that set up would be if a helper spring was installed.

Helper Spring...Gotcha I feel retarded. Would a helper Spring Lift the truck or is that just to level out the load if you have one??

Don't feel retarded, these are all important questions. A helper spring will not lift the truck. A helper spring will only increase load carrying capacity by reducing rear end sag when carrying a load. An add a leaf will lift the truck as well as stiffen up the suspension a little. Wait, I just noticed that you have a Sport, I am not sure but I think the Sports had a monoleaf spring. Is this the type of set up you have? Meaning does the rear suspension have just one leaf spring on each side rather than a leaf pack consisting of multiple springs? If it is a monoleaf then I don't believe that it's possible to install an add a leaf.

Na I have 2 leafs. I think I'm just going to go through with lift consisting of Keys instead of a TT and lift shackles in the rear. That should solve my problems lol Thanks!

One more thing, If I do a torsion bar twist, will I need to change out the ball joints or will they be affected?? I heard that if its a 2wd the sky is the limit if I want to do a TT. Any help please??
