I was just at Auto Zone and noticed they are stocking APC superwhite bulbs in 3157 size and the 195.
They also had LEDs in yellow/orange and red in the 3157 size. First I have seen in the stores.
Just thought I would let you all know....

Hey I noticed that while I was at AutoZone as well Bill! They're carrying a lot more APC stuff now. Plus, they're not too expensive.

Ya, this (LED) would solve the problem of colored bulbs showing through clear corners. Although why you dont want white w/clears I dont know. It cant be againsted the law or else you couldnt drive an old car made before they went to yellow markers. But thats just me......

Yeah, I still have to get clear corners for the front and back. I hate ordering things online! But I guess I have no choice on this one.

BTW, what is the bulb # for the red taillight bulbs?

3157 is the type/style of bulb. I don't know what APC # is as I didnt get any, just looked....

the bulb itself or what? cause the bulbs in there are clear. if memory serves me right i think its 3157. but i wouldn't get LED's cause a lot of people say the suck. id paint the bulbs like i did (turn signals i mean) but just the top 3/4 very lightly. the look blue and illuminate mostly amber, but a little greenish.

Ok thanks, I just needed the bulb #. I'm gonna get some tomorrow.

ya, 3157 for front side/top turn signals, and 194/168 for corner, 3157 also fits the brake/turn and the backup light if you want. 3156 is the OEM # for it, but thats just cos its single filament

I have the jamstrait LEDS in my taillights, I've been told they're brighter than the APC LEDS, BUT, I'm yet to see anyone here with the APC leds in action, after the 1st release they had a jhorrible problem catching on fire, so they went back to the drawing board, I guess people here are still afraid of em

I bought the LED's and they suck. Not much light at all. They do not reflect off the chrome housing to illuminate the entire light at all. All you see is a light spot when they are on. Not britht at all Then need to make one that has leds pointing back and forward. That way it would light up everything.

there is a company that makes such a thing for 1157s alread.. www.ledtronics.com they will be making 3157s soon, however, they're about $50 a set. This company also supplies things like the USPS and fedex for their LED cluster brake lights, along with some newer LED based traffic signals and other things..

I'll be damned, my Autozone now has them too!
Except they only have red 3157 LED's. They were out of my bulbs tho....I have enough for awhile. It's glad to know I don't have to buy them online.

That's funny, I went to Autozone today to try some red LEDs for my taillights, and they were out as well. Weird.

I get the feeling I'm being ignored lol

Truth be told, I think people are tired of buying things online DarkFox, and when it's available at a store it makes it more convienient. I know I'd much rather drive to the store and get it. :o

Just my humble opinion.

I hear that.. I'm very tired of UPS, I once tried to say that every purchase I would make from then on would be a product-in-hand purchase.. but thats impossible these days. Especially in this dead city, I tried to get a shop here to do something simple with lexan and the guy laughed at me! guess I'm stuck buyin things online :(
