im looking to add some bigger and more aggressive tires to my 98 xlt. i really do not want to lift it unless it can be done fairly cheap(new to the truck scene) basicly want to dress it up since i will own it for a while and make it a little more off road capable

cheap lift - torsion twist, shackles and you could maybe fit 32s.

well im pretty sure ill be pickin up a set of Mickey Thompson Classic II's 15x8's this week, only 200 bucks for all four :D so i think ill go with 31's with a agressive tread, that with the push bar should have it lookin good

i personaly like 31s..we have them on my dads truck with the front lowered 1" to match the rear. i also have them on my truck.

31s on a stock truck look good, add alittle GC, and best of all dont hurt proformance much.

will a 15x8 5x4.5 lug patern backspacing-3 and 5/16 wheel fit the truck? its off of a ranger so i figured it would.

well then thats the plan, MT classic 2's 15x8's with 31x10.5 tire(dont know what yet...gonna be cheap) go rhino 3000 push bumper, 2 lights on the push bar and across the roof rack and some nerf bars......might do a very small lift depending on how much it will cost me. most should be on the truck by the end of the month. ahaha, guess thats what happens when winter hits and there are no plans for the camaro

I say ditch the go rhino bar; it is gonna hurt your approach angle and make the truck look lower to the ground. Depending on what torsion bars you have and how bad they may be sagging, you may have to raise the front for that combo. This will only cost you the price of a alignment, and maybe some ball joints.

what is the torsion twist and shackles that everyone talks about, how much does this cost. I thought i wouldnt need a lift with 31's?

ya i wont have the money for it right away, but will more then likely do that sooner or later. Im not looking for anything crazy its my DD and i dont go wheeling at all just to go huntin/fishing and in the winter time with snow and ****. basicly this is the set up i want, he does have a lift though

that truck "might" have tt/shackles but it looks to me to be at stock height.

anyway 31s should be fine on a stock truck...we have 31s on my dads truck and the front is lowered 1" to match the rear..no rubbing.

Steve are you interested in tires..

I see you are in Ma also. I am in SE mass. Fall river to be exact.
have a set of 31x10.50x15. they have very very little mileage on them bought them in Florida and had the truck trailered up here. and took them off for some 33 inch mud tires.
i am willing to drive to meet you if that is a problem..

let me know below is some pict of the tires...
they are mounted on stock rims with center caps.
will fir with just shackles and torsion bars tighthend in not fit the way your truck is.

where in mass are you,
