well you can also factor in the fact that the inch in height will create less articulation but if that doesnt matter to you go with the 33s. Also here in Pa tires cant be more than 1 inch outside wheel wells but i dont know if your state has that or not. I cant go more than 10.5 on my width but if you can thats cool. and is there a price difference? What brand are you getting?

Either way you get bad@ss new tires right?

If you go through water often the higher the better.

Are you running stock rims? If not, why not go up to a 12.5 wide tire. Either way, I say 33 would be better bet.. Your only looking at a difference of an inch..

not if you care about mileage, or your suspension and steering components, or them fitting or cost, or being road legal or being good in the snow. not trying to be a pain just my experience to balance your post. The wider ones do look cooler

by the way I am running 33x12.5

Wider is better because:

1. The wider the vehicle the more resistance to roll over.

2. Wider tires provide more traction, which includes steering and braking.

3. Wider tires create less ground pressure, floatation over soft surfaces.

If you are worried about the duribility of the vehicle, do not modify it and stay on the pavement.

anyone driving 33/10.5/15.. can u show us what it looks like on the x??

Better get the taller ones, cuz no matter what you do, your always gonna wish you would have gotten bigger tires.

I love my 32 x 11.50s but if I had it to do over again I would get 33 x 11.50s. I have to have the width. I like the look because it also makes it look more agressive. Also, without width you have no grip. You will notice a big difference in ride height with 32's Even though it doesn't seem like it, my current truck actually has the most ground clearance of any I have ever had. I had a 1978 and 79 F-150 4x4 with 31x12.50s. Seems heigher because the frame is higher but in all reality I have more ground clearance due to distance from the pumpkin to the ground (slightly smaller pumpkin and slightly taller tires) Anyways I like my 32's but I'd go for 33s but only if you can get the 11.50s big difference. Lots more traction.

I would have to say go with the 32x11.50 in this case.

look, what everyone is posting here is true about wider tire characteristics compared to thinner tire characteristics.. but you're only talking about an inch in height difference or an inch in width- and depending on what brand you get those sizes may vary even less.

if you want offroad traction- the best bet is an inch wider. if you look at the footprind of both these tires pretending they both make a rectangle, let the base = the width of the tire and the height = the length of rubber on the ground. now compare the two sizes.. adding 1" vertical isnt going to change the height of this rectangle and therefore the footprint is not going to increase in area by a but factor. However, increase the width of the tire 1" and you're increasing the base of this rectangle by an inch... now you're going to have a significant area change and a lot better traction!

a lot better traction + not losing much in ground clearance + they look cooler = hands down 32x11.50

dont get 33's unless you're going for 33x12.50

I PMed ya. I'd post my pics but my financial situation hasn't allowed me to be able to support the site just yet. I will become ELITE sometime this year.

Come on, that's only $30.. It's a tank of gas for our trucks. j/k.. I know how tough it is right now.. I just started working again last week and I have to catch up on alot of my bills that I paid off using my credit cards.
