Anyone happen to know where I can get wiring diagrams for an '02 X? I have a bit of a nightmare to clean up. I mistakenly let my brother borrow my X to take out his boat. Apparently he had the boat and trailer on a decline, just above my truck, it started to roll and smashed out the back window/hatch. Needless to say, Rather than turning it in to insurance (I was afraid of being dropped) I found an '04 rear hatch at a junk yard for cheap, and put it on. I discovered however, that they did a mod to the rear wiper assembly, it looks like maybe a delay for the rear wiper, and now all the wiring harnesses are different, not to mention the wire colors are mostly all different too. Just my luck. Any help in finding a manual with wiring diagrams for an '02 would be awesome. Thanks

Man, this forum is a 3rd gen hater

Have you thought about just swapping the internals from your old hatch into the new one?

thought about it, but it is alot more than one might think, between the 2 different latch assemblies, the wiper assembly, the rear defogger, hatch release, not to mention accesibilty problems, since some of the stuff is pretty far out of reach. Oh, and the one wire that attaches to the rear defogger is soldered on. Well, both actually

Well, I searched and searched, and for those that wanted to know (even though us 3rd gen guys are far and few between) I did find a Haynes Manual for sale online that covers 2002-2003 Explorer and Mountaineer. Sadly the website said they have sold out, but you can preorder if you desire. The only thing I caution about is that I have seen this type of thing before. I tried ordering a grill by putco from someone who said the same thing, that they were on backorder or something. I found out from putco themselves that the manufacturing process hadn't even been completed yet. So I had pre-ordered it, and found out that it wasn't even finished being created 4 or 5 months down the road, when I finally got annoyed and started calling everyone. Who knows, maybe im just paranoid these days. Its 15 bucks, who cares? Anywho, here's the link http://www.themotorbookstore.com/ford-explorer-manual.html

i have seen those books on ebay.....so i know they are producing them now.

anyway.......i think i have what you need.
