:exp: I have a '95 explorer with a 4.0 liter motor.
I have a can of A/C refresher, that is to be sprayed into the direct air intake.
My problem is that my motor is set up differently than any car book I can find, it is set up like a 5.0 liter; the battery on the drivers side, windshield/coolant resevors on the passengers side, a large cold air intake with a cone shaped filter instead of the flat style of a 4.0 ive had before.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx

it's the ohv motor not an sohc, what exactly is your question, where the air intake is?

I'm confused, what does air conditioning treatment have to do with the intake of the engine?

The direct air inlet is the grills behind the hood in front of the windshield. Not the engine air intake!
Do not spray into the air cleaner for the engine.

Wheelerdave your 95 is a Gen II explorer, different layout under the hood then the 91-94 4.0L.
The AC system is really similar however. Do a search for charging the AC system on this forum and you should find what you need.

You need to purge the system, then re-charge it. You will have to jump the compressor to get it to cycle for re-filling. You will also need a pressure gage and kit. I suggest buying two cans of the refrigerant that include the leak stop and seal conditioner as well as the refrigerant. two cans to ensure you have enough.

This assumes your AC system is in working condition without any leaks
