My 1994 explorer with 156xx miles has what i think is a knock at idle. im not really sure exactly if thats it but you can only hear it if you are under the truck. if you have the hood open and you are just standing there you cant hear it. if you give it throttle it goes away. its not all the time too, just a couple of clicks and then it stops but then right back to it. i does have a bit of a rough idle and i dont know if that has something to do with it. it could be a miss, hell i dont know. when it was cold, i do remember hearing it and it sounded like valves tapping because i had just fired it up and the oil wasnt there yet and it went away when it warmed up. i was reading here that it could be worn push rods and the noise is just a noise and its nothing to be concerned about. so that what i want to know. with what i decribed, what is it and is it something to worry about or plan for in the future? let me know that you think fellas.
