Hi guys. Will be removing upper oil pan on my 4.0 SOHC 2001 explorer sport 2 door. 2wd . Got oil leak, dripping on catalytic converter and it’s time to get it fixed. Questions I have) it’s 2 wd so I will have enough space to do the job without lifting the engine? Correct? I found 2000streetrod write up and step 12 says that 2 silver covered bolts needed new washer seals. What are they? Is there any part number for them? Thank you in advance. Max

Amazing) thank you Donalds) I bought Victor rainz from rock auto and it’s just a gasket, no washers included.

My suggestion to you as someone who has done this job in the driveway twice now. Make sure you lift the car high enough for you to comfortably maneuver your elbows and arms all over the underside of the vehicle. Make sure that when you install the pan, the gasket makes it into groove of the pan at the rear, use silicone on the sharp corners of the arches in the pan. the bolt torque around the pan I believe is 86inch pounds. make sure to loosen the ladder frame inserts and tighten them back down after.
