Really need more info like what kind of truck and what are you planning on using it for. But the best thing is to...

I would go lower. I have 5.13s with 36s and it would love even lower gears.

2002 sport, 2" torsion keys, shackles, F-150 spring conversion, 3" Body lift, 33/12.5/15 KM2's

If this is the information we're supposed to use, I think you have some suspension work to do before you worry about gears.

If he's planning on running 37s, he's going to need gears or he's going to hurt the tranny or clutch.

lol! Ok!!! Let me start over, i have a 2002 sport and i picked up a 79 dana 44 for the front. My plan it to build it up over the rest of the winter and "TRY" to get it in early spring. Its going to be my daily driver for now but i have plans in the future for it to be a trail only rig in the future. I have 3.73's right now with 33's and it feels like its lacking power, and my hurts my foot trying to keep it at 120 on the highway.....

OK! now let me know what u think!:biggthump

Well, that's a different story then. I'm no gear expert, actually, no expert at all. I was just wondering how you were going to put 37s on a Sport, regardless of gearing. Gonna watch your build.

5.13!!!

Really!!! I orderd 4.88 yesterday but i might b able to get them to switch it for monday... The 5.13 will be good on road too?? they wont kill my gass??

i have 36s witch measure about 37s and i wish i went 5.13 for sure.

:can: Thats 120 km EH!!! :can: Not mph... I'm pretty shure my truck would blow up if i did 120mph

Id go 5.13 for sure. That's one nice axle. The 79 D44 has 1/2" tubes. Probably high pinion also. Remember you have a lot of roll resistance in those large tires which IMO is going to cause higher gas mileage also.

Your going to need a different carrier if you go that low with a 3.73 carrier. That's the carrier break at 3.73. Check out the rear also.
