4 wheel drive (low) clunk sound, normal?

I have recently acquired a 1997 explorer XLT. Whenever i kick it into 4 low, there is about a second or two pause, and then a clunk sound. I am just curious if this is normal, or whether i should avoid using the 4 low because something is wrong. just let me know, thanks.

Normal. That is the shift fork moving from high range to low range.
