Hi all sorry if this is in the wrong place first post
I have a question for you
I purchased an Explorer UQ XLT about October 2004
the vehicle has been pretty well faultless except for one little problem
The vehicles four wheel drive lights ( Both ) on the dash board have
just started flashing probably coming on every 3 to 5 minutes or so
I have tried to engage 4x4 low or high doesn’t do anything
this is the second time this has happened the 1st time it was taken
back to Ford Australia they fixed it worked fine for about 3 months
they said it was a computer problem apparently they rebooted the computer
updated the firmware problem sorted
what I was wondering is this a common problem or it just my SUV if it is a
common problem can I fix it myself ( Exactly the same problem again )
It will be taken back to Ford to sort this is more for my own knowledge

Cheers

When mine did it, it wasnt a computer problem...do you still have power seats and such? when mine did this, i blew a fuse under the hood...

Thanks for the reply every thing else works fine including the seats mirrors ect

Could be speed sensor error or GEM problem. You can try disconnecting the battery for ~30 minutes to reset the computer and see if the problem returns.
