Well...I took my truck to the shop and had a stainless flowmaster 40series delta muffler installed with 2.75" pipe to a 3.5" diameter Stainless Gibson tip. It looks really sharp and sounds like an older 5.0 mustang. I have a single pipe that runs out and exits the side behind the tire at like a 45 degree angle. The tip is suddle enough not to look tooo punkish. The sound is great inside and out. Driving it around you can hear it, but once you get on the interstate, I really cant hear it that much at all...inside. Outside the truck it is much much louder. That delta stuff really works great. It has a nice mustang rumble at idle and purrs really smooth through the rpm range. Powerwise I feel like there is more reserve in O/D on the interstate, and more room to breathe when i step on it over 3500rpm. Just thought I would let yall know what I experienced from it. Hope this helps someone. thanks

I have a digital camera...but no way to post pics without me emailin them to someone for them to post. I do not however have the ability to make sound bites. it sounds just like a mustang though....so thats no mystery

I was thinking that I might try the 50's delta. I have edlebrock on my mustang. Is the 40's like the thunder or is like the .......huh....other?

I would go with the 40. I think the 50 would be too quiet....especially if its delta flow. The 40 delta isn't too loud at all inside, plus it sounds great outside

What about difference in hp? Between the 40 and the 50? I dont want to go out there sounding like a killer and getting killed. I prefer the sleeper route.

what exactly is the difference between delta flow and non delta flow?

Deltas use baffles inside to quiet them down, the originals (non-delta's) just use the chambers with no baffles for that Flowmaster sound;)

bahhhh....stupid deltas:p

deltas are quiter in the cabin...which makes for less annoyance on the highway
