4R55E tranny rebuild problem

I am rebuilding a 4R55E transmission from my 1998 Explorer 4WD 4.0L. I bought a rebuild kit for it that only requires 4 steel & 4 friction clutches (for a 3.0L engine). My original assembly had 5 of each. Will it be a problem if I continue with this kit?

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but in every case I've seen the more clutches you have, the better the torque holding capability. Even if the three clutches stack up to the correct thickness, I don't think they would last as long as a 4 disc setup.
