I have a 97 XLT 5.0,
I am having a problem with a delayed shift from park, neutral, reverse into first. It will shift fine when it is cold. it only does this after it is warmed up and only after it is shifted into park or reverse. you have to rev up the motor to get it to go. If I shift to first it takes off fine. after I get going it, it shifts fine, no matter how many stop lights I get.
I also have the dreaded shudder, but I will have to try the heavier spring for that.
I keep very good maintainnce on it. I use the mercon 5 in it. I changed the fluid and filter 3 monthes ago. clean as a pin.
any ideas on fixing these problems?
