I have a 1997 XLT and new to explorers so im bowing to the Explorer gods for guidance. I just test drove this thing and all systems were go. It goes into 4hi and 4low with out issues but the lights arent coming on to show that it is in 4wd. also the OD Off light is doing the same thing. On the freeway at about 65 i hit the od off button and it down shifts like it should but the light doesnt come on. I tried it again this morning and they work as advertise but now after a quick trip to the store, they decided not to work again. Any ideas? is there a common component between the two? some relay or something?
