EDIT:ok im in a jam i need to kno the routing for the serp belt to bypass the a/c
if anyone can help me out that would be amazing.

also all i need is the serp belt w/o a/c correct?

i need to kno cause my truck is parked at a 7/11 in hackensack, nj and i need to move it asap. i realize it should only take 10-15 min tops to install the belt.

anyother input would be greatly appreciated.

so i have a 95 eb i bought a few months ago and serves me well
needs a tune up and basic stuff but all in all not bad.

anyone up here in the northeast (tristate area) knows the craptastic weather we are having. so i turned on my 4wd auto and as im driving down the road the truck is all over the place shuddering and thumping, kinda feels like something is preventing the drivers side front axle from rotating. cause it rotates say 70% then THUMP, and to be honest kinda scarey.as fun as it is to drive 2wd in the snow, it gets old fast.

not to mention suddenly lately the truck has been eating coolant every 2 weeks. It also has a strange rattling in the engine compartment it doesnt sound like a loose heatshield or anythin its more of a deepertone highspeed rattle (if that makes anysense) also lately in the past 3 weeks the truck has out of no where stalled 3 times while either idling or slow local driving. i dont beat on the truck. its my DD and i have a nissan for that kinda thing.

also i did mention that i need a tune up but for some reason if i run anything less then sonoco (REGULAR) gas the truck runs absolutly horrible. put sonoco in and the truck is a whole nother animal.

anyhow i kno this is alot to read and prolly written very choppy, im kinda irritated right now so please forgive me, any help and or input is greatly appreciated and if at all possible anyone in NNJ area is available after this crap weather to look at my truck that would be cool.

thanx again

How many miles on the truck?

Where is the coolant going ???? You could have a serious problem if its going into the engine from a bad internal gasket. That could spin bearings and toast your engine.

The noise could also be from engine knock due to carbon on the pistons. People had success with seafoam. You should do that before you change the plugs.

As for the 4wd problem, you can try changing fluid in the transfer case. It is VERY EASY, look for the thread on this page. You will save $60 bucks vs doing it at a shop. If that don't help the xfer case is probably toast :(

ok well the truck has 180k on the odo the truck is titled as a mfr buyback and according to prev owner the motor was replaced at 90k.

ive had great luck with seafoam on my nissan and planned to do that as well; as to where the coolant is going idk . i am gonna compression test the motor when i get a cheance which is hopefully asap,

ok well i still dont kno where the coolant is going i think i have a leak. im not getting tons of white smoke while i drive nor is the oil chocolate milk. how ever it really does need an oilchange.

i think once weather warms up i will follow the 10 steps to a coolant flush, im also gonna do an engine flush and possibly switch to synthetic, the engine seems to run strong.
i really think it may be the tranny cause sometimes it feels like im towing something to get the truck to 60-70mph , then other times i jus ease on the gas and the truck shoots to 70 fairly quickly. also at those speeds i do notice the truck shudders not from the front end but more the mid-rear. like it will shudder lightly to maintain its speed then i feel power again.

Check the heater control valve on the passenger side of the engine if it is leaking. Very common component to leak. Change your fuel filter.
Change the rear end gear oil too.

i need to pick a chiltons, cause im not familiar with where everything is and etc on the truck.

thanks again 96eb i really appreciate the input

ok so found out what the noise was, what was wierd it came from the completely opposite end of the truck.

turns out the a/c condenser popped a bearing and was getting really really hot and dragging on its own bolts. and finally popped all the way threw some sparks and ate my belt, thankfully this happened in a parking lot near my job else id be in a really tight jam.

so my question is, does any one know the belt # to bypass the a/c condenser or even if there is one for a 95 ohv?.

or i will post this in the wtb section anyone have a dead one with good bearings i can buy for cheap to get the truck running

Has your 4wd been working yet? from your first description you maybe experiencing how the 4wd auto works, you can do the BWM its pretty easy and allows you to have full-time 4wd when you want it instead of the 4wd auto control-trac. if you go to the cb section of this site in the 2nd gen. cb install the last pic is the pic of where I stalled my toggle switch it can be an easy clean mod.

4wd doesnt work how ever i have the nob that switches to 2wd/4wdauto/4wd low
how ever the issue with 4wd is when it switches into 4wd the truck thumps much like a fwd car would snap/crackle and pop when the cv joints/boots are shot.

right now my main concern is gettin home from work. installing a new belt and bypassing the a/c unit

Do you have a shorter belt already? You'll need one I think, there shoudln't be enough adjustment in the tensioner to tighten the belt with a missing accessory IIRC. I know a few times on other cars I had to do this and I just drew pics of the pullies, the way they rotate, and figured out how to route the belt to get it to work. Sorry, I haven't seen a bypass picture or anything like that. For a manual, try the link posted here a few days ago with the full CD imaging- great tool, and way better than a Chilton's. Sorry I can't help more with your routing problem... :(

Manuals thread- use the link in post #7

will post pics of the compressor when i can show everyone what happened.

i really appreciate the help

found the routing off the ebscohost site
