4wd no worky need help :(

Like title says push my 4wd button and nothing the light doesn't come on. I really don't even know where to start. I looked at the little motor on the back of the t-case.....is there any way to convert this to a manual where I have a lever. BTW it is a 94 xlt automatic. I would rather be able to climb under the thing and pull a lever than rely on a stupid little push button. Any help would be awesome thanks

take the motor off, its 3 or 4 10mm bolts, remove them and pop the motor off. behind it is a lever and you will see positions marked 2wd, 4hi and 4lo. use a pliers to turn it where desired (make sure its in neutral for 4hi or lo)

I had to do this sunday when my wiring harness at the t-case took a shot from a stump and I couldnt engage or disengage the t-case.
