4wheel drive help plzzzz.

Hi all i have a 1995 explorer with a problem i have narrowed down to electrical i think!.I can manually lock up the 4wd by putting direct power to move the shift motor and locking up the front axle by blowing in actuator vacuum line on the front axle.The 4wd switch on the dash is not functioning at all and the lights flash on the dash 6x every few min.Fuses all seem ok i was told to check the relay's and module but i have no idea where they are located on my truck . I was told to look in the rear quater pannel for the module but all i found there was an anti theft device (grey box with keylock door codes on it no reset button as i was told there might be) and i have no idea where to look for the relay's or relay part #'s .
Any help would be appreciated .

The ideal place to start would be to have the system scanned at a dealership to reveal the trouble codes stored in the system. The 6 blinks indicates a problem... what problem? It's anyone's guess.

Many people have luck changing the front and rear shaft speed sensors on the transfer case, but it's a guessing game at best.
