4x4 4.6L ford explorer with heating and a/c problems

I have had problems with the heater/air conditioner. It first went out on me but i could still here something that sounded like it was trying to blow the heat out just not getting anything at all. Then for a while it only worked on the hi setting. I first replaced the fuses thinking that had something to do with it but that was not the problem.I replaced the blower motor resistor and it worked for about 5 minutes then stopped working again. I am at a loss right now as to what to do and where to go with it. I would appreciate any help or advice with this.

When it did work after replacing the blower motor resistor did you get good heat from the vents? It may be a bad blower motor or fan speed control switch..
