I had gotten off work a few days ago and when i started my 94 explorer my 4X4 and Low Range Lights came on immediately. after driving for about 5 minutes the low range light went off then came back on after another 5 minutes. only one other time my low range light came on was while i was on the highway and was only on for 5 minutes. Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated thanks!!!

Are you talking about the buttons lighting up, or the indicator lights in the dashboard?

x2 on RangerX. If it's just the little LED next to the button, that's pretty much normal. Mine used to do it randomly and rarely, now they do it all the time. The lights below the gauge cluster are off though.

Yeah, that's fairly common. From seeing it mentioned here in past threads, it doesn't seem to be anything to worry about. If it was actually going into 4wd and 4lo, then you'd have a problem.

I finally got the low range light on my dash to go out and stay out...

I had to pull the front dash bezel out to replace it since I broke a few tabs over the years and the dash was bounce/rattle etc while wheeling...

Anyway... When I pulled the connector off the 4x4 switches I found a wire that was loose in the connector... So.. as a test I push that wire in and held it there, started the truck and viola. the light was out...

So, my fix was to push that wire into the connector and zip tie all the wires together so it would hold the wire in.. Now my lights next to the buttons are off until I turn on the 4x4/low range...
