4x4 Control Panel & No 4x4!

Hello All! I just got my 1993 Ford Explorer XLT from my father who has terminal cancer. He knew I would need it in my high country home. Lo and behold in the middle of one of our famous snow white-outs, I found out today that the 4x4 does not engage any more than the lights come on. Neither are working. Any ideas? My father is too ill to discuss it with me, so help!? rondygirl50 in the Cascades of Oregon

Now, onto the reason you joined the forum! Is sounds like a common shift motor failure. I would search for "Shift Motor Rebuild". I hope we can get your bad boy plowin' through snow ASAP!
