4x4 issues.

Hello, new gal needs some help, my 94 explorer is making a thump and a hum when i exit 4x4 mode and it stops when i return to 4x4 mode. Any ideas?

I would probably start by checking the hubs (I'm assuming you have the stock auto hubs) to see if they are unlocking as they should.

hey thank you mucho, my friend, I got it figured out that same day. Seems the temp was so low where i live that the linkage was having trouble and I just had to restart, get in low range, and shift back into 2wd from there. I am a new owner, got a hell of a deal on a pretty much mint eddie bauer 94. thanks for your help, I am glad this site is here for Johnnie-Come-Latelys like myself. Appreciate your help alot!!!!!!!!!!!
