I did a search and it was pretty bizzare what poped up.
Qusetions about GOD and interiors and way.
I got as far as a 4X4 could be droped no more than 2 inches. Fine.
What cost can I expect on a kit ?
What is the tallest wheel I can still stuff in there ?

Thanks folks.

( I really need to visit the Sport Truck section more often !! )
:)

Well, are you looking to roll 20's, 22's? You can get the complete kit from EE for arround $700. That comes with new Edlebrock Shocks, EE's World Famous Sway bars, Bushing's, lowering blocks, camber tabs, and everything else needed.

20's are pretty common. And I have seen about 4 people with 22's on an Explorer.

As far as the ride it is questionable. I like the way mine rides. Others say that the lowering kills the ride. And others think it rides great. Like I said I love the way mine rides, very tight.

Let me know what eles I can help out with.

you already have shocks so-

get a decent set of 2" blocks. stick them in the back. remove front torsion adjuster bolts. then go get it aligned. its up to you to either install the alignment cams or let the shop do it, but you will have to have them. top it off with a set of EE swaybars and you're done. :)

edit- i see you have a 2000 model so you will only need the rear bar.

Just to add what they didn't.... You can lower a 4x4 explorer at least 6 inches(if you could do it) without messing up the 4x4 driveline.

Word of caution- some Explorers (mine included) can't be lowered more than 2" and still get aligned correctly.

Cool
cool
and cool.

I also droped John V. a line.
I also have the sway bar kit as well so that is a nickle and dime savings.

According to John I can drop it almost 2 inches for just under $300.00
( 6-inches is just too low for a daily driver )

Not in the budget at this time.
Apten is taking priority :)

Thanks for the help.

Camber cannot be corrected

I could get it to lower up to 2.5 inches but to align it properly it can't be lower than 2 inches. To align it PERFECTLY (0 camber) it needs to be no lower than 1.75 inches.

edit: yeah, what boomin said^ :D
