4x4 Problems

My Explorer when upon startup and about every few odd minutes flashes the 4x4 High / Low lights 6 times. I know this has to be a trouble code of some sort. Anyone know what it may be, or how to find out. Everywhere I call wants me to bring it in . . . that will only be a last resort.

It sounds like you have a Transmission sensor going or gone. My lights blink sometimes, I just cycle the key, and it goes away.

As it turns out, I found on the net, another fella that has an '96 had the same EXACT problem. Just needs a new $24 VSS (vehicle speed sensor). hehe EZ fix!

But how easy is it to change that sensor???

In all the other ones I have changed on other vehicles, they were all behind the rotor in the front.
