I have been having some problems with my 4x4 on my '93 sport. A few years ago I snapped the automatic hubs and I replaced them with manual locking hubs and that was ok, everything worked fine. Then the winter after I fixed them, I tried to engage my 4x4 and it wouldn't turn on. I took it to a shop and all they did was replace an ABS fuse and it worked fine for about a month, then nothing. I just can't get it to engage. I've checked all the fuses and none of them are blown. Maybe there is one that I missed but not sure. The little inside doesn't turn on when I hit the button so that's why I think its an electrical problem. We have hella' winters up here and I would like my 4x4, so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Thanks for your help.

Guess I'm elected. Since you are new here, I don't want you to think we are unfriendly. Your shift motor assembly is bad, dried out oil in bearings and poor electrical contacts. Use the search feature for "shift motor" and read 20-40 posts. Look for a glue thread. Most of us can't even take opening up another "won't go into 4X4" post, let alone answer it. There is plenty of information out there to solve your problem cheaply.
