Hey guys,

I've done a forum search, and watched a few YouTube videos on where to locate the PCV Valve on a 1997 Mercury Mountaineer, and the general consensus, is that it's located behind the intake manifold in between the firewall. I've looked as best as I can behind there, and I can't seem to locate it to save my life. I've taken a few pictures of just behind the intake to see if you guys may see it where I'm missing it.

I've got reason to believe that it's failing and sticking closed, and at 190,000 miles, it's far past-do for replacement.

Any help is appreciated.

Sorry for the poor pictures, the only light was from my flash.

If it's not in any of my photos, anybody with a 1997 5.0 that could snap a picture would be of great help.

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays!

Most people end up pulling the upper intake to get to it, its dead center on the back lip of the lower intake manifold and once you get to it I recommend you clean the gromet with carb spray and glue the new pcv in with silicon

I'd really like to refrain from removing the intake unless it's a last resort :/

I managed to change the PCV Valve, it's actually very easy to do once you move the harness that's bolted to the firewall just above the intake manifold. I had the old one out, and the new one installed in under 60 seconds.

What took me close to 45 minutes was replacing the almost plastic-like dry cracked PCV hoses that my arm bumped into after finishing the install.

All done now though!
