Ford part number:
E6TZ-6A892-A

It will take me a little more time than some of you tall guys since I have to climb into the engine compartment, strategically place myself, and reach down there to get at it. I'm hoping 5 minutes.

Ford sucks, and should be ashamed of themselves trying to sell someone a $35 PCV with hose, rather than a $6 (still incredibly overpriced) PCV alone.[/QUOTE]

I seam to remember some discussion a while back that the reason Ford wanted $35 for a PVC with hose was that the new PVC was a different size than the OEM original and it caused the older more brittle hose to split frequently.

Well, I'll find out, and I can still get probably all the vacumm hose I could ever want for the $30 additional they want to charge for a 6-8 inch piece of hose.

Well I thought I was ordering right part, since I took the part number off the PCV valve itself and had Torrie at fastparts cross reference it, but it still showed up with a right angle nipple on it. So, I'm back to having to get the hose with it to get the right part. At least it is $25 from Torrie. Now I have 2 new PCV valves and neither will work, so I'll wait for the new part to come in.

will a fubar pcv valve mess with gas milage?

It can't help.

It's so inexpinsive to take care of, just replace it.

I consider $25 a lot for a PCV valve. ;-)

That is for the PCV valve and the tube.

The part # for the PCV valve only from the dealership is EV-152-D.

It costs only $7

Well, even Torrie at fastparts did some searching and couldn't find that part.

I just went to my local ford dealership parts dept.
They had it in stock, no problem at all.
I was in and out in 5 min.

As an update, I got the "PCV valve kit" and replaced the whole thing this weekend. However, when I was cleaning up the garage I took a look at the other PCV valve that I got which had a right angle, and would not work. Looking closer, the right angle nipple comes off, exposing the straight PCV valve. So, I then looked at the PCV valve I had picked up at the parts store over a year ago, and guess what? The right angle adapter on it was also removable.

So, for those looking for this part, you *can* get the PCV valve, and remove the end if you need the straight valve. Hopefully I've learned from this to look a little closer next time 'cause replacing those hoses was a bit of a pain. I've got some photos that I'll post when I get some time.

PVC Grommet

I did my first PVC/MAF & TB cleaning/Seafoam/smoke the neighbors out.....today. All went well but one thing. When I finally got my arm wedged between the intake and the firewall....I found immediatly what had been causing my pinging. The PVC was firmly in the grommet but the entire grommet and PVC were not in the crank case. :( I'm actually surprised how well it ran given this vacuum leak....maybe my old PVC was clogged enough to not leak that bad....who knows...it only pinged under moderate load up a hill.

In any regards, the grommet did not look that worn so I tried to put it back in but it didn't stick at all....just barely sat in the crank hole and would probably pop out after driving for a bit. Too make matters more confusing, I bought a new grommet and it fits the same way....very loose (doh). I don't see how there could be any wear on the actual crank case hole....especially from a rubber grommet. For the mean time, I managed to contort my hands back in there and secure large zip tie on to just put a little pressure on the PVC/grommet into the case and keep it from popping out. Am I missing something?? It runs much better now as well....spark plugs are next. :)

Thanks!
ps....I would have ever figured this out without the great posts on this site...thanks for all the great info.

I had about a 2 foot screwdriver that I was able to get down there and push the new grommet in. Went all the way in, flush.

Durn guys after all that work you forgot the most important Part. under the Grommet is a Metal can type Screen. I screwed in a long screw and it pulled out Ok, Mine was Clogged the PCV could not work no matter how new.. Auto Zone had the new Mesh Screen.. I know this is a old Post but maybe it will still help someone. You can see the Black Grommet and PCV on the rear of the EFI Intake. See Pic. click pic for larger Picture.

Thanks Brooklyn Bay. I have got to be tinkering with something to make it worth while to get up in the morning.. I'm just sick of all the sixes that I had the past 10 years. Love the V-8 sound.. It will go into the 94 explorer when I get all the parts together and the engine running.. since it will be my Daily Driver..in the rain...

yes I do have the AOD for the swap if the manual 5 spd won't hold up behind the 5.0 . I should this is not a Drag racing engine it is bone stock with a new roller timing chain and a melling High volume oil pump. (now I read not to use the high volume pump under 400 Hp..lol ) It is out of a 88 T-Bird .so I am only getting a little more power than the stock 4.0 but the sound will be so sweet if you like the sound of a GT mustang without the camy throb. which I do .. don't know where you saw the Chevy engine but I can't work on them. I break out in Hives..LOL . If things work out next week I will be getting a 30x40 concrete floor barn.. Oh boy the 94 could turn into a Body Off Restore. are we in trouble for hyjacking this thread big time ? the t-bird had overheated and cooked all the sludge. which clogged the screen below the PVC Valve. The man who sold me the car said go ahead and run the engine. It don't need a rebuild. the bearings had very little tin left on the bearings and deep grooves in the crank... Sad..
