Hi All. Have a 93 XLT with the mazda 5spd. Was on the highway doing 65mph when I suddenly lost all drive. Heard some short noise from the tunnel maybe or it might have been the rev limiter making the engine miss cause it immediately went to redline. I didn't hear any grinding or any thing. None of the gears drive. I tried 4high and low and nothing. The clutch feels the same as it did before. If I exploded the clutch would the hyd pedal feel the same? Since I have no gears even reverse is it safe to say it could be the transfer case. even if it was the transmission drive gears I would still have reverse or even some grinding when I let the clutch out, right? Right now it is silent. When I put the tranny in each of the gears the shifter feels like it is solidly in place in each gear. I've heard the transfer case is electronicaly controlled by a servo motor or something? Could it be something small like that? Has anybody had the same thing happen? Any info is appreciated.
