Ok so a little history on my 02 xlt with the 5r55w, i have replaced the solinoid pack, servo pistions, and all the sensors on the trans. Just recently i had to replace the motor because it jumped time, well put in a very low milage ford crate motor, and it ran great, nice smooth motor, and still shifted great. I let it sit for a couple days after a new battery was installed, and now it will not move in any gear, but will go in netural, and in parkl. I figured i had some junk in the valve body, so i decided to tear it out, and pull it apart and clean it up. It still refuses to move lol. So if anyone could chime in and give me some pointers, or what to look for, i would appricate any help on this problem.

What do you mean it will go in neutral and park. Do you mean it moves? Anyway check the DTR sensor and make sure the plug is snapped into place also the plug for the solenoids, if these are loose it may work for awhile but vibrations will move the plug and then it won't work. I know cause it happened to me. Worked great then nothing, had me really bummed out and it turned out to only be the plug on the DTR sensor.

What i mean by it goes in netural and park is in park it stays put like its supposed to(wheels dont move), and in netural the wheels free spin like they should. I was thinking about that DTR, but wasnt sure if there was a way to test it, or just buy a new one and throw it on there.

Thought that was what you meant but just making sure. Did you check the plug? Your 5R55W has a different pump than older models, the pressure relief valve is in the pump, these have been known to stick open, no pressure equals a no drive condition. I would suggest you check the line pressure and go from there. Yes the DTR can be tested for continuity, with an ohm meter. Sorry, I can't send you the method for checking with an ohm meter as I don't have it.

ok thanks for the info, i have yet to check the plug to see if its all the way connected or dirty, i will do some research to check the dtr, or just pick up a new one, i have a tranny guide around here somewhere to do more research, i just wanted to get some input off of here. Also what all in in to doing a pressure test, i was thinking of that also, but have yet to have a min to do research on it. Again .thanks for the input, this thing is driving me bonkers

alright thanks forthe info i will do some more checking in the next week or 2 and post back my results.
