5spd stuck in gear

I did a post a while back about a bound tranny, but its not bound up, its stuck in gear. When its in neutral and I let the clutch out it seems to be stuck in a high gear. Any ideas? Thanks

Can you move the gearshift, or is it stuck in place?? If you can move it around easily, I would suspect that the shifter fork has snapped off. If it won't move, it might be bent. You might want to pull the shifter out and inspect it. To do this you pull the carpet away from the boot, remove the boot retaining bolts and remove the bolt that holds the shifter lever to the shifter. Then pull the shift lever off. Once it's off, remove the 3 bolts that hold the shift lever base into the tranny, and you should be able to pull it out. If it's broken you should be albe to tell immediately.
