$6000 - what should I get?

I have around $6000 to spend on a used Explorer that I would use a my primary car and go camping and fishing during the weekends. I'm open to all options. Right now I kinda like the Explorer Sport but would like your opinions for year/model/etc.

Did you see the plane crash that happened tonight. The news in Chicago said that two little Cessna's collided in midair.

As for truck, get the newest truck with the lowest miles that you can, generally speaking. Other than that find something that you like and are comfortable with.

What you would like the truck to become in the future has a great bearing on what you should get. What kind of plans do you have?

I'm not a serious off-roader. I'll make make some mods lights/rack, etc. but nothing major. Just need the cargo space and versatility/fun/comfort of the explorer for fishing rods, camping gear,etc. Like the 2door sport for looks, mileage, etc.

$6,000.00 will buy me a nice Christmas gift !!

It is gonna be tough to get some thing great for 6k but you can get some thing good. Remember to allow your self some money to fix what ever is gonna be wrong with what you get.

Have you considered using the 6k as a down payment and financing the remaining ,,,,,, what ever amount ?
