6x9's in replace of stock 5x7 in 1st gen ex? possible?

Big thanks Mr1 !! I have a Sport so only 2 doors but sounds like the front doors should be very doable. Plan on taking a look at the rears this week. Pics are also a great visual help but your explanation seems pretty straightforward.

no need to interupt posting, didnt even bother reading all the pages of spam work, but i am running 5x7 speakers, built in tweeters for mids and highs and they are 420 each. running on a 400 watt amp and a pioneer head unit. plenty of speaker, no trimming required.
