Then you have to MOD to your content. Go Bi-Xenon or put your H1's you were talking about in your fog lamps, there's a reason those lights are down there. Why not utilize those?
If you need brighter light down the road you MUST have a solenoid type bulb that repositions the bulb, or put them in their proper housings. HID's aren't toys, they are very specifically engineered devices, that when matched right, will walk all over halogen any given day.
Don't be haste to toss this away, you havn't tried the options yet.
Indeed, spotters on the roof or bumper will help when angled to the proper location, consider that an option.
Just my 2 cents. I plan on building an H.I.D. system the proper way over winter in my Monte Carlo.
