91 block vs 94 block (explorer)

I have a strong 91 motor, and an old weak 94. can I strip the 91 down to long block status, switch the 94 components over, and use it? I'm thinking specifically about stuff like the camshaft position sensor...

Thank you very much, that helped alot. Do you know how I would find which block I have in each one? 90tm is the suggested long block for both models from rockauto, but the 91 might not have the hoke for the camshaft sensor
Edit: I found its located above the starter
