So... I swapped a '95 4.0 OHV into my '92 X. I used all the '92 sensors and do-dads except for the injectors and water temp sensors. Truck is single O2, and I reused the single O2 pipe and sensor.
The injectors in the old motor were black (19 lb/hr.?) and the 95 motor injectors are red top (30 lb/hr.?).
Truck runs GREAT, and will scratch the tires on takeoff at will.
No burnouts, just really good pep and great low/mid RPM torque (which is my favorite power range, hands down). I haven't taken it past ~3700 RPMs, I haven't the need.
33's on 3.73 gears (FYI).
No codes, no errors. I haven't hooked up my reader, but I do have one.
Here's the rub... it runs rich. Not enough to smoke, or kick a code.. just enough to give a little smell from the tail pipe.
Should I swap the old injectors in? Would using the 95 MAF make any difference?
Stock airbox (with a few holes. heh), stock air filter, and "poor boy" upgraded exhaust.
Would prefer to not foul plugs, soot up the O2 sensor, or induce other problems from a rich condition. That and MPG. (I haven't driven it enough to generate MPG figures)
TIA!
