93 explorer loud ticking noise during acceleration

my engine is making a loud ticking noise during acceleration, it does not make the noise while reving in park. it also feels as if i lose power when pushing pedal to the floor. and when i first start it and put in gear it hesitates for a few seconds???

Make sure all of your spark plugs are tight... The 'losing power' could be a slipping trans, especially if it hesitates, you could have tranny issues.

The hesitation is in the engine. it stutters for a few seconds when you hit the gas. then once the rpms get up around 1500 its fine.

First start by checking for vacuum leaks and cleaning your MAF
