93 Explorer , New project

brought a explorer home today it has been sitting about 8 months here in the Florida Atmosphere.. and I have a few questions. I know the gas is bad. can I remove the line at the engine and run the fuel pump long enough to almost empty the gas tank then add more good gas. or should I remove the injectors and clean them also.. It is a EB 4x4,4 door deville with a 3 inch body lift that was a job well done. No bumper gaps.. I have been told the engie is great with 125 thousand miles but the Transmission is shot .. So do I rebuilt this one or put my xfer case on another trans.?.. This is low budget.. and I will possibly put on 32" tires for now.. love the offroad in our Mud bogs here in central Fl.. I will post pics soon as my PC has blown the Mother board or Cpu.. I will add pics to my son puter here .. but anyway I am glad to be back .. I liked my 94 sport a lot but it was a 5spd. which was ok also... but I will like this Automatic also.. I guess.

how much gas is in it? you can drain the tank by disconnecting the line right before your fuel filter, and turning your key on and off.. i would definatley not recomend this. fyi you cannot clean the fuel injectors yourself if you took them to the dealership they might be able to help you out. pretty much rebuilding your trans is totally up to you, it would probably be cheaper to buy a new a4ld and put your t-case on that, on the other hand rebuilding your a4ld will cost possibly a little bit more but you will gain a wealth of knowledge. gl n hope this helps a bit.

Project.

Ok today I put in a battery and the gas gauge showed FULL . I hit the starter easy and it tried to crank so I said why not . Poof it started ran smooth for about 20 minutes and shut off.. after going from 6 cylinders to 2.. I put in 2 gal of new Gas and it restarted with ease..Put it in drive and it tried to move hit the brakes ... NONE.. Shut down and checked trans fluid low, none on stick.. added a bottle of leak stop and a 1/2 Qt of trans fluid and she showed full. No fluid in the brake master cylinder filled with fluid and bled the front and rear brake at the master cylinder . had brakes.. told self to go for a short ride. No license or title yet. Started down the street and the trans did not want to shift from 2nd to high. hmmmm.. Turned around and came back to the house and it shifted. that time... I guess setting 10 months and no Valve body kit with springs. Might have
Allowed a valve to stick .. I will get a tag and a couple tires and run some more test... found a electric transfer case motor in the back.. Glad it was not off this.. First vechile I bought with Limited Slip wow... Can I run 33's with 3.73 Gears..? I think I will have time waiting on the title to add the shift kit mentioned, in the Sticky.. great write-up
