The radio/cass in our 93 XLT comes and goes at any given time. Sometimes you can ride for miles and miles and it will play and then all of a sudden it will quit for 3 days. Are there any fixes to it or do I just need to purchase another one?

Thanks,
Dawn

I would bet that the problem is the amp, not the radio/cass.

Or it could just be a loose connection. Usually when you get the intermittent cutting out, it's the amplifier or a loose/dirty connection. But there's no way to tell unless you get in there and clean the contacts or replace.

If you are considering upgrading it, check out crutchfield.com.

Mine did the slow fade thing as well. As a result, I changed it out with a donated one from the wife's old minivan. Problem solved, so if its stock, I would put money on the radio being bad.
