Does anyone know where I could pick-up (buy) two anti-rattle clips for the front brakes on a 93' XLT?
Mine are missing (I presume due to the noise that I'm getting from the front wheels), I must have installed them incorrectly and lost them.
Thanks

Just out of curiousity can this cause a clunk, if you dont have them, when you stop?

auto parts store would have them

Any excessive play would make a noise. It is a good idea to check those caliper pins that are hammered in. Sometimes they could start to work themselves out, especially if the rubber is starting to rot away.

The pads are about 2 months old and the calipers are about three weeks old, brand I do not recall, I went for the better pads, not the 14.99 set. I did the calipers late due to the truck starting to pull and used the OEM recommended caliper (non-metal piston).
I just read the link refernce the brake job and do not see them using the anti-rattle clips, did I miss that one?? I did find the pins at advance auto, Thanks!!
The two items I did not do when doing the brakes - anti squeal compound or re-pack the bearings, I did not loosen the hub nuts.
I will check the slide pins this morning..
I drove about 25 miles yesterday with no noise. It is only at slow speeds with the brakes not applied, as soon as I brake (even very slight pressure) it stops.
????
Thanks!!

Yeah what anti rattle clips? I didn't see any when I did my brakes. I did use some anti squeal, but i didn't see many places it would be of use since most of the back of the pad is exposed.

If I'm not mistaken mine did the same thing. This guy I know said the calipers were self adjusting and all I needed to do was back up about 20' kind of fast and apply the breaks firmly but not lock it down. They then readjusted and no squeal.

Yes it could, but I would first lube the slip yoke if you're getting that clunk when stopping.
