I'm not sure where the motor is located for the driver's door power window is located. Is it inside the door? I assume it is, but can't see anything and can't feel anything that feels like a motor. I sure would appreciate a step by step. I have done a search but it doesn't turn up anything that is specific to my vehicle. I can hear the motor turning but the window doesn't go up or down. So I assume it needs new bushings which I have. I have the door panel off, but I am leery of drilling or cutting anything without knowing exactly where the motor is..
There appears to be some difference between the '96 and others.
Thanks heaps
George

OK, I found the window motor. But I still need help getting it out so that I can replace the bushings. Any help out there today? Or if someone can point me to some online help??
Thanks

I think it is all relevent. The only difference could be the location of the dimple for drilling a 1/2" hole to get the third bolt out. 1st gen and 2nd gen (not sure about 3rd gen) use the same motors, same motor plugs. This will show step by step, I did mine only took 1/2 hr to do.

Some times, some info can be found on other forums in this site, try search on them all.
Good luck.

Yep, Gman, thanks for the reply. I finally took the plunge and drilled the dimple after that it was a piece of cake.
One thing that made me leery was that the people that I bought this truck from had a receipt from a shop showing that the motor had been service about a year before I bought it. There was no service done on this door. I could tell from the residue and the fact that the dimple hadn't been drilled cinched it. was $100. charge too.
Thanks again. All set now.:D
