Alright so I was on my way to work when all the sudden I lost all power. Pulled it to the side of the freeway where I tried to restart the vehicle, no luck. Vehicle turns over just fine, I can smell raw few so I'm getting fuel. I tested to see if I had spark nothing. I'm thinking it has to be some sensor out that controls the coil packs. Any advice?

I do have a check engine light on. But when I hooked up my reader it showed no codes. So I'm stumped there.

Maybe the CPS sensor isn't sending a signal? One way to check this is to turn on the electrical system, then use a ratchet or a breaker bar to turn the engine. You will hear the fuel pump cycle every time you manually turn the engine.

I can possibly give that one a try. I was personally thinking it might be the crankshaft sensor, but I am having difficulty locating it Even though it's supposed to be easy to find

Make sure the obvious is good first.

Remove battery and alternator, take both to be tested at your choice of parts store.

Good luck.

OP stated "Vehicle turns over just fine, I can smell raw few so I'm getting fuel.". Why would he need to have the battery and alternator checked?

Low battery, Low spark... But if its got lots of power turning it over that is out of the question.

Get yourself one of those spark testers. You plug one end to the spark plug and one to the plug and there's a bulb in the middle and illuminates when you're getting spark to that cyl. I see before you mentioned you had a code scanner, plug it in and watch the RPM section on the live data portion. If your CKPS is bad it will show 0 rpm during cranking. You don't have to remove anything!! :)

I would also check resistances between the coils in the packs and check your fuel pressure. Just because you smell raw fuel doesn't mean its good enough pressure to start it. I had minimal pressure on my old pump... Could smell fuel but wouldn't start. You need 30 some psi to start and run nicely.

Took me a bit but I found the crankshaft sensor. Replaced it no luck. I'm done for today. I'm still willing to try some other suggestions. Thank you all so far
