96 Explorer catalytic converter - Calif

I'm having a tough time finding a catalytic converter for my 96 Explorer. The California cat's are specific.

I went on CATCO's website, looked through the PDF catalogs and dont see it listed. Unless the converter is a universal. There has to be one somewhere - there are too many explorers out there on the road. Even the muffler shop guy I go to was at a loss why he couldnt find one.

..Where are you located?...Maybe a member in your area may know of a place to get one..

Thanx Tbars for the info. I see Magnaflow MAY have the converter so I'll look into that. I havent heard back from CATCO yet.

This whole process is becoming ridiculous. It's as if the 96 Explorer fell off the the edge of the earth when it comes to catalytic converters.

...I know I can find them in stock at my local muffler shops..

..That is of course, only if I don't need it...

I’ve tried to find cats in online, they seem to only be sold in the universal single cat configuration unless you look at used or after market ones. I’ve taken it to a few local shops and they’ve told me:
1.) the part isn’t readily avaliable
2.) take it to the dealership
3.) install the universal instead
I understand the frustration.
